Heidi LocherBooks I would simply call myself a maker, whether it is a piece of architecture, an installation fine art piece, or an artist book. My concerns and process are the same and are conceptually-led, and are largely concerned with the intensity and atmosphere of internal landscapes. I like to have a big idea to chew on. I need to be overwhelmed and pushed to an extreme in order to do my best work. Heidi Locher Heidi Locher is a London-based award-winning architect and artist who graduated initially from the RCA and more recently from Central Saint Martins with Distinction. Her most recent exhibition, Hotel Kalifornia was on display at the Londonewcastle Project Space in Shoreditch. This solo exhibition brought together all the elements of her interdisciplinary practice; through the collision of the different facets of her fine art and architectural practices, 'Air Architecture' was created. The exhibition explored ideas of disengagement and looked at the geography of loneliness and the heightened intensity of our inner landscape promulgated by such disengagement and absence. Alongside projections, installations, photo roman and super enlarged photographs, the show centred on a short film which explored the notion of hidden memories and deep personal anguish. Locher will have a new solo show in September 2018 at the Londonewcastle Project Space. She is represented by Rod Barton Gallery and Sedition Art. Blue Star is part of AMBruno's Blue collection. Blue Star takes the notion of Rapture and the female body as its central thesis, paying direct attention to Yves Klein, the path of art, devotion and initiation which was the true fable of two young artists, Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe and the music of UNKLE. |
